Emily Carr?

 'North by Northwest' - woodcut, 3.25"x2.5" - edition 100
'Norte por noroeste' - grabado en madera, 8.5x6cm - edicion 100

I swear Emily Carr haunted my knives for my latest woodcut.  Don't know who she is?  Then you are definitely not Canadian.  Neither am I but I just recently found her.  I love her trees and somehow I felt her spirit creep into this tiny piece for the Baren 53 print exchange.

I love getting newsletters from Dave Bull (see list on right), a fabulous printmaker living and working in Japan. Not only are his printmaking updates always interesting but I also get some neat stamps. I saved many of them and gave them to a young stamp collector but this one just need to be played with. Thank you, Dave!

Gracias, Dave!

I cut a little 3"x2.5" all-shina block but, upon proofing it, decided it was a little boring. So I tore it up a bit and mounted the little scrap onto an experimental watercolor I was going to toss. I rather like the results, a little ACEO woodcut/watercolor/collage (below). I still haven't decided how to salvage the 'el coqui' print... probably an exotic paper would improve it.

Veremos...
