Puerto Rican politics is paralized by the three parties which advocate either statehood, continued commonwealth, or independence. Entire families and towns become divided, as does the country, among these parties. This print was created for the Printmakers.info print swap, the theme of which was ‘politics in any country.’ As I worked the wood I noticed the image of Puerto Rico was becoming somewhat ‘lost’, making the political party logos even more ‘consuming’.

‘Our Politicians Consume Us’, woodblock (6.5”x3.5”) with blue-black oil-based ink on white rice paper, edition of 50.
Available here.
