Presently we are in a banana-rich environment. We have two banana stalks that are ready for eating and 3 more stalks on the way. My husband takes bananas to the gate guards at the hotel marina and I take them to my postal worker-friends. People helpfully comment that we can freeze them nicely but, even with two refrigerators, do you know how many bananas that is? In the last week we have graced our friends with over 100 bananas, all ready for eating immediately! ... and more are on the way... the fun of living in 'el campo'...

What a wonderful predicament! You're giving me a terrible case of climate envy too :-)

It's true, David... I have to remember that many of you are shoveling out from snowdrifts or scanning gray horizons waiting for the first crocus... Our weather is pretty much the same all year round, just a little rainier at times, with an occasional hurricane tossed in to keep us on our toes. Fortunately everything has been extremely quiet since Hurricane Georges made a path through here in 1998.
